Naming Grace
When we purchased this boat, it was named 'Mary Flo' after the mothers of the couple who owned it. The name had no resonance for us, and we had long had a name in mind if we ever got our own boat.
Why Grace? Well, many things come together:
- Terry and Christine both had grandmothers called Grace
- Grace aptly describes the movement of a boat on the water
- Grace is the word for the undeserved and unlimited generosity of God, which we come across again and again in our lives
- We hope, as we cruise, that we may be in some sense 'channels of His grace' to others
Fortunately, the current name is in vinyl, and will easily come off. The look we are thinking of for the new name is in the picture below.
