Change swirls around me,
a sea dark with the rising storm;
but in You O Lord, I will put my hope.
Days melt and weeks dissolve,
tomorrow’s horizon long obscured;
but in You O Lord, I will put my future.
Waves of trouble crash over me,
my heart founders, swamped by fear;
but in You O Lord, I will put my trust.
In quietness You call me to sit with You,
leave the shrieking storm in Your hands;
so in You O Lord, I will seek refuge.
Around, the challenges still rage,
each stinging mile on a bitter sea;
but in You O Lord, I will renew my strength,
rise above the storm on eagle’s wings.
