1 oz rolled oats
2 oz wholemeal flour
1 oz coconut or chopped nuts
1 heaped tsp cinnamon
2 oz light soft brown sugar
2 oz margarine or butter
Mix dry ingredients, and cut in marg with a fork until an even texture.
Sprinkle evenly over cake (or breads, coffee cake, muffins, etc.) before baking.
As a variation, try making double the quantity, and use half in a layer in the middle of a plain or spice cake.
